๐Ÿฏ International Day on 29 July: International Tiger Day (Global Tiger Day)

Every 29 July, the world observes International Tiger Day, also known as Global Tiger Day, to raise awareness about tiger conservation, celebrate progress in protecting tigers, and encourage continued efforts to save these majestic big cats from extinction.

The day was established in 2010 during the St. Petersburg Tiger Summit, where 13 tiger-range countries pledged to double wild tiger populations under the TX2 Goal.

๐Ÿ… Why International Tiger Day Matters

Endangered Species: Tigers have lost 95% of their historical range, with only around 4,500 remaining in the wild.
Keystone Species: As apex predators, tigers maintain the balance of forest ecosystems and prey populations.
Biodiversity Guardians: Protecting tigers helps conserve vast forest landscapes and biodiversity.
Climate Allies: Tiger habitats are critical carbon sinks, aiding climate change mitigation.

๐ŸŒŸ 2025 Theme

The 2025 theme for International Tiger Day is:

“Protect Tigers, Protect Our Future.”

This theme emphasizes community-led conservation, habitat protection, and cross-border collaboration to save tigers and forests.
