With acrylics, layering was approached strategically — starting with thin underpainting and gradually building opacity and highlights. World Numbat Day is not just a tribute to one of Australia’s most unique animals — it's a call to protect and cherish the small wonders of the natural world.
🦴 What is a Numbat?
A numbat may look like a squirrel-meets-meerkat hybrid, but it’s a species all its own. This tiny marsupial feeds almost exclusively on termites, consuming up to 20,000 a day with its long sticky tongue. Once widespread, numbats are now endangered, with fewer than 1,000 left in the wild.
