๐ฎ๐น Festa della Repubblica – Italy Republic Day – 2nd June
Celebrating the birth of the Italian Republic (1946)
Every year on 2nd June, Italy celebrates Festa della Repubblica (Republic Day) — the anniversary of the 1946 institutional referendum in which Italians voted to abolish the monarchy and establish a republic. On June 2, 1946, after 85 years of Savoy monarchy, Italy became a republic.
The day is a national public holiday marked by a grand military parade in Rome (along the Via dei Fori Imperiali), a flyover by the Frecce Tricolori (national acrobatic team), wreath‑laying at the Altare della Patria, and celebrations across the country.

๐งญ A Message of Liberty
On this 2nd June, Italy celebrates over 80 years as a republic (1946–2026). The 1946 referendum gave Italians — including women for the first time — the power to choose their future. That choice birthed modern Italy: democratic, united, and proud. Buona Festa della Repubblica, Italia! ๐ฎ๐น
