🍐 A Study in Stillness: Pears in Light and Shadow

🍐 A Study in Stillness: Pears in Light and Shadow   Acrylic on Canvas | Original Artwork by CRA [Image 1 – Initial Sketch Stage] [Image 2 – Mid Painting Process]  [Image 3 – Final Artwork] 🎨 The Concept This artwork explores the quiet elegance of everyday objects. A simple bowl of pears becomes a subject of depth, texture, and light. The composition reflects a timeless still-life tradition, where ordinary forms are transformed into visual poetry. 🖌️ Artistic Process The journey began with a loose sketch to establish composition and balance. With acrylics, layering was approached strategically — starting with thin underpainting and gradually building opacity and highlights. Fast-drying acrylic allowed controlled detailing, especially in defining form, edges, and reflections. Warm tones were established first, followed by vibrant greens and highlights to create depth and realism. 🌿 Visual Interpretation The pears symbolize abundance, ...

Only Reading Books Creates Successful Minds

Introduction – My Story

When I was in Class 4 or 5, I developed a simple habit—reading books. Not to score marks, not for exams, but out of pure curiosity. At home, I often watched my parents teaching junior students with patience and passion. Their dedication inspired me deeply. By the time I was in Class 6, I started teaching myself.

My parents appreciated my teaching style, and that moment changed everything. I realised something powerful at a very young age:

Reading builds understanding. Teaching deepens it.

This simple habit shaped my identity. It helped me become a confident teacher, a motivational speaker for students of Classes 10 and 11, and a mentor whose students—from Class 1 to Class 10—scored up to 95%. My foundation was never rote memorisation; it was reading with purpose.

The Changing Attitude Towards Reading

Today, the culture of reading has weakened drastically.

Many students depend entirely on:

  • guidebooks

  • summaries

  • ready-made answers

  • social media shortcuts

In language subjects especially, students tend to memorise question-answers without reading the actual chapter or poem. The result?

  • Fear of application-based questions

  • Difficulty expressing original ideas

  • Weak comprehension

  • Lack of confidence

When reading is replaced by memorising, learning collapses.

The Real and Powerful Way to Read Books

Reading does not become powerful by finishing pages quickly. It becomes powerful when the mind is awake.

A deep reader:

  • reads slowly and attentively,

  • visualises scenes, characters, and emotions,

  • asks “why?” and “how?” while reading,

  • underlines meaningful lines,

  • reflects on the author’s message.

Even 20 minutes of focused reading is more valuable than hours of memorisation.

True reading creates thinkers—not just toppers.

No Age Barrier for Reading

Reading belongs to every age.

  • A child reads to imagine.

  • A student reads to understand.

  • An adult reads to grow.

  • A leader reads to guide others.

Whether you’re in Class 1 or Class 10—or far beyond—reading always adds:

  • wisdom

  • clarity

  • confidence

  • emotional maturity

Books evolve your mind at every stage of life.

Positive Books vs Negative Books

Books shape thoughts—and thoughts shape destiny.

Positive books build:

  • discipline

  • empathy

  • curiosity

  • values

  • purpose

Negative books or content often create:

  • fear

  • confusion

  • distraction

  • unhealthy thinking

Choose wisely.
What you read today becomes your thinking tomorrow—and your character the day after.

The Essence of Chapters and Poems in School Textbooks

Chapters and poems in textbooks are not written merely for exams. Each one carries:

  • a powerful central idea,

  • a moral or life lesson,

  • an emotional or social message,

  • a connection to real-life situations.

When students read carefully, answers flow naturally—even if the questions are twisted.

Understanding the essence is the true secret to mastering language subjects.

Hack Tricks to Score More in English or Hindi

  1. Read the chapter or poem twice before attempting question–answers.

  2. Identify the theme, message, and key words.

  3. Write answers in your own simple words—avoid guidebook language.

  4. Quote or refer to meaningful lines from the text.

  5. Practice paragraph writing and vocabulary every day.

  6. For grammar, understand the concept instead of memorising rules.

Marks increase automatically when understanding replaces fear.

Conclusion

Books do not just help you score better—they build your mind, your clarity, your imagination, and your confidence. Students who read deeply never struggle to interpret, express, or succeed.

If schools want better results, and societies want better thinkers, the solution is simple:

Bring back the habit of true reading.

Final Thought

“Marks come and go, but the habit of reading creates a mind that can never fail.”

Andrews Elsan
