Every 23 July, the National Marine Corps League Day is observed in the United States to honor the Marine Corps League (MCL), its history, and its continued service in supporting **veterans, active Marines, and their families. Founded in 1923 by Major General John A. Lejeune, the Marine Corps League is the only Congressionally chartered US Marine Corps-related veterans organization, dedicated to preserving the traditions and interests of the U.S. Marine Corps.
